Legare Waring House Editorial with Heather Rowland

I traveled to Charleston, South Carolina with friend and photographer, Heather Rowland to work on this editorial shoot which was featured on Lemonade and Lenses yesterday! I fell in love with the southern charm of the city.  Charleston has so much history and soul and the grounds at Legare Waring House were just breathtaking! Hundreds of spanish moss filled trees lined the entrance that lead to the main house sitting on a perfectly manicured lawn and overlooking the water.  I love the intimate feeling that Legare Waring house gives and wanted to translate that into the design. I incorporated the color palette of dusty blue, sage and ivory which can be seen all around the city. Be sure to check out more of the feature on Lemonade and Lenses

Muted Pastel Bridal editorial

I design and style editorials for my soul. They ignite such creativity and passion! This shoot took place just three months after having my sweet baby boy. It was the first time I had been away from him which was so hard but oh-so-needed for my creativity! I was first inspired by pastel hues but wanted it to be a bit muted in tone. I gravitated towards a palette of light grey, amber, lilac, wheat and fig.

The weather on the day of the shoot was less than optimal, to say the least. As we pulled up to the Trinity Institute we were greeted by sideways rains and what was most likely a tornado warning (ahhhh!).  And wouldn't you just know it- as soon as we called the shoot and literally placed the last item back in the car the sun came out! See more of the feature on Wedding Sparrow!

Relaxed Boudoir with Brett Heidebrecht Photography

Boudoir sessions can help celebrate such a special time in someones life, plus its a great way to have fun, feel pampered and forget about wedding planning for a day!

I recommend setting up a boudoir session a few weeks prior to your wedding so you can truly relax and not worry about the wedding day hustle and bustle. It is always a good idea to bring a few wardrobe options as well. My go-to suggestions in lingerie are shades of ivory and/or black plus a color- maybe one within your wedding palette to bring in cohesion. Don’t forget a robe or veil as well! Not all brides are super comfortable feeling so exposed and it is nice to have some layering options while still giving off the delicate and feminine feel.
