i feel like the groom and his men often get overlooked during the wedding process. but, why?! a man in a well tailored suit is absolute perfection in my book. they should look sharp. dapper. sophisticated! don’t be afraid to mix brown, black, and navy together! i always say, the rule of fashion is: there are no more rules.

unitas workshop | creative direction + styling05.01.13

posted in creative direction, published, wedding styling

this past february, I had the honor to create and style taylor lord’s first workshop: unitas. the photography workshop took place in austin, texas (which i am now in love with and currently trying to convince my husband, robert to move to) where i met so many talented, great wedding photographers from all across the united states. the styled shoot was loosely inspired by the renaissance painting, primavera by sandro botticelli. i wanted the feel to exhibit a unified mix of old world yet modern, fresh and approachable. a mix of raw and refined. new and old. i scoured all of dallas and austin to find elements that merged the natural geodes to the patina plates perfectly. i hope you enjoy as much as i did creating and styling! you can see the feature on ruffled blog here.

i love the sophistication in these dresses and the unconventional way of adding a little sparkle. what kind of dress are you wearing for your day?
